Dagger Pod Chili Peppers – Cayenne Type

Dagger Pod Chili Peppers – Cayenne Type

Scoville Heat Units (SHU): 30,000 – 50,000 SHU (estimates)
Capsicum Annuum

The “Dagger Pod” is a hot cayenne chili pepper that grows to 4-5 inches long by 1/2 to 3/4 inches wide. It is a long, thin, and pointy, somewhat resembling a dagger – pendant shaped.

It is a thin fleshed pepper that starts off green and matures to a vibrant red.

It is a mid season pepper, producing pods in 70-80 days.

I personally grew these peppers in my garden and can vouch that, yes, it is a very prolific plant producing many, many pods.

Cooking With Dagger Pod Cayenne Peppers

Use the dagger pod as you would use any cayenne chili pepper. I love them for making hot sauces or for drying and grinding into vibrant powders and seasoning blends.
